About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be a source of support, motivation & love for anyone who needs it

ABOUT ME

I know my purpose in life, which is to help others achieve their greatest goals and fulfill their purposes in life. I'm still working on how to achieve this but I have a fulfilling vision to work toward, and that is the greatest feeling.

My greatest talent is helping others feel good and giving them increase happiness and belief in themselves. This talent lends itself to the hospitality industry (in which I work) and I'd like to extend this experience to my home.

PHILOSOPHY

Honesty is the single most important principle to me...both from myself to myself and from myself to others and vice versa...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly by hosting, but I'll check out surfing as I decide where else I'd like to visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hehe, I've lived on others' couches for months at a time :-) I always had a policy of 'zero residual presence' to limit my hosts' levels of anxiety...for years vacations were decided based on cities in which I had couch or floor space waiting...looking forward to increasing the global footprint of those cities :-)

Interests

I'm into outdoorsyness, night life, personal development, and excitement and adventure

  • hiking
  • surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge movie fan- maybe someday I'll make one... I love Scorcese, Mann, many others...some top picks are Departed, Heat, Big Trouble in Little China, Jerry McGuire, Before Sunrise/After Sunset, Touching the Void...

Hehe, I like upbeat, energetic music, from Daft Punk to Beastie Boys and Deadmau5, Beatles, rock/rap/ country/classic/electronic and every other kind of music are great.

The most interesting work of nonfiction I've ever read is Guns, Germs & Steel. Also, Cats Paws & Catapults; the best fiction was The Power of One...wish I'd read it when I was younger. I'll read anything by Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Lewis (although I didn't love the Big Short), John Krakauer & Jared Diamond.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: 4-day hike across Zion Nat'l Park, 10-day juice feast, back flips and front flips :-)

Seen: A small patch of sunlight reflecting off the water off the coast of Baraquecaba, Brazil on a cloudy day; Navajo falls at Havasupai, Grand Canyon at sunrise

Teach, Learn, Share

Taught English for 4 years; great rewarding job...

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Canada, Egypt, United Kingdom
