About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My summer season in the SW of France has just come to an end and I'm hitting the road again. First to explore the Basque country a little, before heading inland to Andorra, then the Côte d'Azur, and finally Tunisia, before moving back to Austria for the winter.
ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty easy-going, open-minded guy who is keen to learn and experience as much as I can in life. I think I cover just about everything else in the rest of my profile :)
PHILOSOPHY
In religious terms, I don't subscribe to any religion (despite being raised Catholic), in fact I'm agnostic, but I do believe that treating others as you would have them treat you is the best and simplest philosophy, and that we all have a duty to leave behind a better world than the one into which we were born.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I've had my couchsurfing account for quite some time now, I am actually not a very seasoned couchsurfer. As a result of neglecting my account and abandoning it to periods of shameful inactivity, I have never hosted and have only been hosted twice. However, the experiences I've had have been wonderful so I'm looking to continue that positivity.
Interests
Simply put, I LOVE to travel. When I have a few days free I use them to go somewhere new. Be it to another country or the next city over. When I do travel I really try to experience the culture of the country/city I'm in. I like to drink in LOCAL bars, eat in LOCAL restaurants, and attend LOCAL events. That's why it is so imperative to meet LOCAL people. And I plan on fully utilising couchsurfing to this end.
As for my more intellectual interests, I must be honest, I neglect them a little. I don't read quite as often as I should (although I am currently reading The Catcher in the Rye). And my German isn't quite as good as I would like it to be. But all work and no play and all that!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love anything by Tolkien and have read LOTR 3 times. A Long, Long Way. Bram Stoker's Dracula. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Edgar Allan Poe. To Kill a Mockingbird. Also some French titles in L'Étranger, Le Petit Prince, Le Fantôme de L'opéra. The Lord of the Rings films. GoT. Pan's Labyrinth. Comedies and horrors in general. Many different types of music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know this is not really ONE amazing thing, but I have to put the amazing adventure I've been on for the past 6 years or so beginning in '12 with 2 years in Belgium; a brief stint in Switzerland; 9 months in the south of France; 2 years in Vienna; and an amazing summer in the SW of France. As well all the wonderful places I've been and Incredible things I've done in between. It's not particularly AMAZING in the great scheme of things but it has certainly changed me for the better.
Teach, Learn, Share
English is my first language; I speak French relatively fluently, and my German is pretty basic, but I would love to pass on some of my knowledge of these languages to any who would like to learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a decent cook. I could also help with some household chores/projects or just share some stories.
