About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore as much of the nature, cultures and traditions of the world before it disappears.

ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing, honest, adventurous individual who is interested in meeting people from all over the world. I believe it is always more interesting to travel in a country with someone from that country who can show you the exciting exotic locations that many people overlook. I want to know about the culture, tradition and nature of a country not follow herds of camera touting tourists. For me travelling is a way to return to a more simple, enigmatic way of life, where uncertainty and unpredictability are all elements that allow you to see the world anew. This feeds into my poetry which seeks to introduce the world and all its myriad details in a fresh light.

PHILOSOPHY

Always the right time, always the right place.

If you're not living your life on the edge, your taking up too much space.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to host people at my flat in London on the couch or on the floor when I am not travelling. My philosophy is simple, I work for about a year, save and then go travelling the next year for around 6-9 months. I work as freelance writer for magazines, websites and papers about art, theatre and music, I also do copywriting to get by and know quite a bit about SEO, affiliate marketing and web design as I was working as an online affiliate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The strangest couchsurfing experience I had was in Vietnam, where I tried to get off the beaten track, away from the bus route and I stayed with this guy who was using Couchsurfing as a trap to snare unsuspecting travellers to his house, where he could try and sell them his Easy Rider Motorbike tour of the Vietnamese Highlands. The guy didn't get the concept at all, that couchsurfing is about exchanging cultural experiences not cash. He even tried to offer me a lower price of $50 a day to go with his brother who was deaf! Strange times

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to mention, I have a very broad taste in music and film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Aurora Borealis, a fire, a river and a bottle of Cuervo gold, I'll leave it at that.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can travel faster than the speed of sound
but can we stop within the stillness of silence
