About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Hitch hiking around Europe on a semester off from college.
ABOUT ME
I'm a relaxed guy who grew up in Greater LA. I love everything outdoors, whether it's backpacking or canoeing or rock climbing--really I just love the adventure; seeing new places, doing new things. I'm willing to try anything I've never done before, and I travel to experience the world and get to know the people who live in it--all of them, not just the ones I grew up near or happen to run into. That's why I joined couch surfing and want to become more active in the community: because it gives you a chance to delve deeper than just tourist attractions and "seeing the sights" and actually experience the places you travel to.
PHILOSOPHY
I beleive in being the best man that I can be--having adventures, learning, discovering truth, and doing whatever it takes to make are I understand the world I influence.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think of Couch Surfing as similar to hitch hiking--while I'm young and always on the move I stick out my thumb and I hope to stay with a lot of people couch surfing. Then, once I have a car or a couch I'll eagerly return the favor and meet all the interesting people doing what I used to. Sharing stories, helping each other out, maybe having a beer--thats's what it's all about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Around Thanksgiving 2011, I took a hitch hiking trip down from Middlebury, Vermont to Providence, Rhode Island, and over to New York City, and then back to Vermont. On the first night, it was my first time hitch hiking, and I hadn't started thumbing yet but I'd walked a ways and then turned into the woods to set up camp. The skies were so clear, and there was no snow on the ground, and I'd always wondered what it would be like to sleep outside without a tent. I put my tarp down, my sleeping bag on top of it, and fell right to sleep...until I woke up at. 4:00 AM the next morning--cold, shivering, and covered in 4 inches of snow. At that moment I seriously considered just turning back, but I decided to push on, and then I got a couple of lifts until about half an hour later a super chill dude playing sweet electronic music dropped me off at my first destination, the Falls of Llana. After about an hour of hiking in I reached them and they were breath taking. This was a because of their natural beauty--over a hundred feet tall, and incredible to look at--but it was really because the snowfall had been so heavy, and it had woken me up so early that every rock, every branch, every spare inch of ground was covered in freshly fallen, completely undisturbed snow.
