Hi! I'm Jin Cheng from China. I arrived in America in August for an exchange program called Fulbright Program FLTA. I will teacher Chinese in Alcorn State University in Mississippi for one year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend and I really like to know more about American culture and people, and Couchsurfing will give us a much better experience compared with hotels.

I like listening to pop music, watching American TV series and reading novels. My favorite American TV series is Vampire Dairy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took part in an event called Cultural Connect on campus, and I prepared a lot of Chinese traditional things and even dumplings for both students and professors who joined this event. I couldn't count how many questions I've answered and I'm deeply touched by people's interest towards my country. At the end, I showed a 3 minutes' dance containing Chinese dance, Russian dance and Indian dance. I'm happy that I can share a lot and learn a lot with American people here. This event really brought me a sense of accomplishment.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life here in the US. is amazing. I am like half teacher and half student on campus. I teach both beginners and advanced level, and meanwhile take two courses as a student. I'm a cultural ambassador here and I'm trying all I can do to share Chinese culture and language with people here by having classes, holding multicultural events, doing presentation etc.
