*Deutsch version below, limited by my barely existing German skills*

It's never easy to write about oneself, but I'll try my best! I come from India and I'm studying at University of Paderborn. I love meeting new people, especially locals from the place I visit. I believe only by meeting local people I can absorb a bit of the lifestyle of the place, and take back something beautiful :)

I absolutely love nature and animals, especially dogs. An evening in the park sitting at a lake or river front or walking in the meadows is the best relaxation for me. I am a hobbyist photographer as well. I love taking back memories of all my travels, and I would love to show you my collection from the various trips I've done all my life!

I am strictly vegetarian, and now almost vegan! People sometimes think that vegan food is boring - I would love to treat you to some home-made vegan food and you can decide ;)! Coming from the land of flavours and spices (India) we have among the greatest variety of vegetarian food dishes around! I am no expert in cooking, but I think I could still give you a tasty vegan meal to remember.

I have special interest in Indian Mythology. I love stories like Ramayan and Mahabharat because they packsl so much teaching in them - Learning the fundamentals of how to live life, loving, helping and respecting others and making a better society :)

Lastly, I see a lot if people on Couchsurfing are interested to know different cultures. If you wish to know anything about India, please feel free to ask! I would love telling you everything I know :)

Ich komme aus Indien, und studiere an der Universität Paderborn. Ich möchte neue Freunde machen und mein Deutsch verbessern. Ich mag Natur, deshalb ich trekke und fotografiere gern. Ich bin vegetarisch, weil ich Tiere liebe. Ich mag Philosophie und Mythologie, besonders Indische Mythologie wie Mahabharat und Ramayan. Mein meinung ist, dass mit alten Geshiste man über besser leben lernen kann.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I've read both fiction (Novels) and non-fiction (too many subjects!). Almost all my reading has been in English. We could talk about anything from the stock market to technology to culture, self development, Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter!

Music: Usually melodious Bollywood songs with good lyrics. I even love some old devotional songs.

Films: Comedy is my choice here! Films, for me, should be relaxing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking in the Himalayas - an easy route, but the experience was amazing!

Did 2 self driving trips, about 4500Km each across India.

Visited organizations that help people in villages that don't even appear on any maps (they're so small, remote).

Did a self-planned 3 weeks trip in Europe (Austria, Switzerland, Germany).

Studying now in Germany - a learning experience on surviving alone!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basics of some Indian languages (Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi). Apart from that I'm a techie, so maybe some computer related stuff (not my first choice though!).

I really want to learn Deutsch!! I've done B1.1 level, but it's important to speak with local people to really absorb the language. Apart from the language, I also want to know the German culture better :)
