Overview
About Me
Born in China, raised in the Netherlands. Felt always in between countries, and always curious to see the world.
Call me Jing, nice to meet you. 🌻
I have been away from home for almost three years. I lived a year in Iceland and after that I decided to travel.
I learned in a hard way that plans will not always go as you expect so I decided to trust my intuition, go with the flow and my motto became: no plan is the best plan.
I've traveled many places since and even met my biological parents for the first time. I have collected some memories and stories to share. I love the slow travel, to really be able to immerse myself in a culture. Get to know the people and do what I love to do: wandering, taking photos, meeting new people, hiking and being surrounded by nature.
Now I am back in the Netherlands, gonna start a job and try to find my pace in this life again. I'm really keen to meet people as I still don't have my own place but I'd be happy to host whenever that time is there and give back the kindness I've received.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The whole idea to do something for eachother, learn and grow. Experience is the best teacher and freedom is the best privilege we have and if we have time and space or be able to help or to meet up, then I would do this. as long as you do good you will receive good.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music and I am always happy to discover more.
I don't watch many movies anymore but when I do, I prefer documentaries.
The same goes for reading, I have periods I can't read because my mind isn't focused but sometimes I read a book, and I will read non stop, - this is what I love the most. To read and read and really feel it, be in the moment of the story,- and be sad when it ends.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I visited China where I have been born and met my biological family for the first time.
Traveling in China by myself going to the Tibetan infrastructure region, hiking in Yading Daocheng province without knowing or speaking the language but still making my way. Connecting with strangers.
Climbing the Annapurna in Nepal without any preparation or guidance.
Do some wild camping in Japan.
Meeting my biological brother and sister for the first time in Indonesia and traveling for 10 days straight with them.
Working and living in Iceland.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some photography. Some Dutch. How to live outside of a backpack, to be minimalistic and I can share my view on life, living abroad, growing up as an adoptee, meeting my biological parents, how I learned to always be humble and try to see the good in everything.
