About Me

Hello 👋
My name is Jiří and I am from the Czech Republic. When I was 20 years old, I fell in love with traveling. I worked, studied and volunteered for a long term in various countries, including the USA, Denmark, Portugal, Spain, Malta, and Iceland. I finished a master's degree in Computer Science And Engineering. However, I am taking my time before I settle down. I prefer to use this time of my life to go on adventures like traveling, exploring new cultures, exploring myself and finding what's meaningful in life. Thankfully, I've discovered volunteering which combines all of that :) So far, I have been helping out in 3 animal shelters for dogs and cats, and went on Workaway to 2 animal farms and to a hostel on the way to Santiago de Compostela. I love to meditate, exercise, go on hikes, dumpster dive, do origami, mix music, hitchhiking, rock climbing, slacklining, snowboarding and basically being active.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a very travel-minded person and Couchsurfing is a great tool to overcome some obstacles while being on the road. I would love to meet new people, learn about their lifestyles, habits, stories, culture, etc. At the same time, I can give back to the community by offering my room myself. It's a great concept :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I've fallen in love with djing, so I am trying to mix all kinds of genres. As of now, my favorite ones are drum and bass, techno, edm and hard bass.

My favorite books are some that have helped me with my self-improvement, such as:
Robin Sharma – The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari
Jordan Peretson – 12 Rules for Life
Jordan Peterson – Beyond Order
Sam Harris – Lying
Sam Harris – Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion
Eckhart Tolle – The Power of Now
Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler – The Art of Happiness
Wim Hof – The Wim Hof Method
I recommend these :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am trying to live my life to the fullest.

Teach, Learn, Share

My passion is being an instructor of any kind. I love teaching skills and giving insights to people who are interested. I've been tutoring many of my friends how to snowboard, do slacklining, climbing or martial arts.
Ultimately, I would like to learn paragliding and become a tandem pilot.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope I could share some positive attitude with you and inspire you with my lifestyle, dreams and stories. I also love to cook dinner for my hosts to express gratitude for their hospitality.
