I love living in a simple way. There's nothing better than eating fresh and healthy food, appreciating art and culture of great masters and creating your world according to your own wishes.

I also focus on cultivating respect towards those who are respectful and being humble with the humble.

Also, I love fishing and sleeping on the beach, giving a morning swim, having a breakfast and coffee in a bar nearby, reading and writing during the day and having a drink in the evening (this is my summer life). Apart from that, I'm keen on making wood furniture and being a handyman.

However, my main occupation is being a university professor specializing in literature, cultural studies, critical thinking and anthropology.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on Couchsurfing for many years. During that time I've made a few friends, I've participated in many meetings and activities in places I was visiting or living in. I've never used the platform primarily as a cheap way of travelling without considering other people's homes or needs, and I've not been accepting requests from people who just want to use my home in this way. The original idea of CS was sharing, primarily of someone's home, but then of experiences, cultures, habits, food and drinks...

Unfortunately, the platform has gone through some changes. First, it is the annual payment which used to function as a verification. Now, they're asking to verify separately with your credit card, or PayPal, which is undermining my confidence as it seems that the platform is of a commercial nature now. I used to use AirBnb and Blablacar for the idea of sharing and I'm quite shocked that it has developed into such a big business. CS seems to be on the same road unfortunately.
