About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn Salsa

ABOUT ME

I´ve been living between Panama, Colombia and Washington D.C. for the last couple of years writing for Frommer´s Travel Guides, traveling around, doing some editing, teaching English and whatever else comes up. I've pretty much tried everything in terms of jobs -- department store sales girl, winery bartender, freelance writer, accountant (fail), receptionist, various office jobs and more...I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with my life or how I'll get there, but I'm trying to have fun while I figure it out.

I´ve been in Bogota this time around since September and plan to be here about a year.

PHILOSOPHY

Still developing that...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I actually just joined CoachSurfing not too long ago, so I'm waiting and seeing how it goes!

Interests

Traveling, writing, dancing, old things, under appreciated things, good red wine, cafes, art, exploring, discovering things, good restaurants, cool neighborhoods, celebrity gossip, going out, trashy TV, reading, music, bookstores, cobblestoned streets (we don't have too many in the U.S.) and more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Casa Blanca, Bridget Jones's Diary, Cinema Paraiso, Amelie, Fight Club, others...

Books: The God of Small Things, Dona Flor and Her Two Husband, The Shipping News, The Alchamist, Wuthering Heights, more...

I like pretty much all music, depending on what I'm in the mood for. But having grown up listening to Vallenato and being in Colombia for the last three months, I have to say I've had enough for a while.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week in an Embera village in Panama's Darien, three hours by boat and three hours by car from the nearest town. No electricity, monstrous grasshoppers and never-ending rain, but an amazing experience.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Colombia, Panama, United States
