About Me
I'm a cyclist from Shanghai,China. I left Shanghai on April 1, 2017 and crossed China. From Tibet to Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran, Armenia, Georgia and Turkey, my destination is Paris.
Two years ago, I was a bank staff. The fixed life of nine-to-five kept me thinking about the meaning of life. I almost could imagine how I could be when I was retired. And then, I asked myself a question, “Is this the life I really want to have?” After a long-time meditation, I made a decision and soon quit my job. I began to take a journey of searching for dreams by cycling.
Because of the differences between eastern and western cultures, cycling around the world may be just a common thing for you, but in the eyes of most Chinese people, I should be a unique guy. There is an old Chinese saying, "While your parents are alive, you should not travel to distant places." It means that when your parents are still alive, you should not leave them to the distance, but to live together to take care of them. If it is necessary to travel, there should be a definite direction. The traditional Chinese families also do like this. I definitely belong to the exception. Everyone has the routine life just like the productions from the manufactory. But as to me, I just want to prove that everyone should face their true self, and everyone should strive to pursue the life they really want to have, rather than spend their whole life on a regular basis.
