About Me

Hi, my name is David. I used to be a student. Now I work at a zoo. Isn't it weird how fast you grow up? I've been living in Hannover for six years now.

I like newspapers, coffee and movies. I wind down running or reading. I love to celebrate the little things that make life interesting every day. Friendship, art, the small moments when you are thankful for what you have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to provide people with a place to crash when they come through Hanover and really need a place to stay. I think it's a cool concept and a great way to meet interesting people from around the world. We can chat, cook a meal and share a beer for a nice evening.

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate film making as an art form probably more than all other forms of entertainment. Screenwriting may be my favorite hobby. I revere Charlie Kaufmann for that reason. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is my favorite movie. But I can also talk about why "Empire" is the best Star Wars movie for like, two hours.

The book that had the most influence on me was Herman Hesse's Siddhartha. I think I will be able to read it every 10 years for the rest of my life and learn something new every time I do.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Please only apply for one-day-stays. I apologize for the limitation, but I feel like I can only really accommodate people for one night at a time.

IMPORTANT - BE ADVISED: You should know that the living room where the couch is located is separated from my room by only a curtain, so we will basically be sharing a room. I won't disturb your privacy, but surfers should be aware of this fact before they apply.

It's a given that people prefer other couches to crash on due to this fact. I am still offering a place to crash for people who can't otherwise find a place to stay. I'm happy to help.

On a side note: all my guests so far were women and it's starting to feel a bit one sided, so I might have to mention that men are allowed to apply as well. There will be no discrimination*.

*(unless we're not available for the date of your stay, which might happen)
