I'm Jenny. I just graduated with an MBA from MIT. From the age of 6 when I moved from China to the U.S. with the family, I have been extremely excited about getting on planes, busses, and trains to new places, and that travel bug has stayed with me. I will always spend money on experiences over things, and have saved up for some pretty memorable experiences, such as going to the World Cup in Brazil last year, and working in Kenya for 3 years. So far, I've traveled to over 30 countries, and have lived in San Francisco, Boston, Texas, China, and Nairobi, which I'm happy to share tips about. Whether it's at home or abroad, I love good conversation, taking my time walking through the neighborhoods especially when the sun's out, finding the best places to eat, most of all, I love getting to know good people. I realized after a work trip in 2010 that traveling alone isn't scary at all, and it's actually fantastic for approaching and getting approached by people who turn out to be fantastic friends, so I've been doing more backpacking trips on my own. I work as a business designer for non-profits, and love to keep learning new ideas, heritage, and places to help me develop a better sense of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like to meet locals when I travel to new places. I signed up back in 2011, but finally, after hearing from cousin and friends how amazing their travel experiences have been thanks to the good people they met over couchsurfing, I decided to be active on it. I'm excited to start hosting as well as staying with other couchsurfing hosts.
