About Me

LAST UPDATE 1.10.2023
If you intend to stay over with me at Zlin, read my home section
I currently live between Zlin and Prague, so I will likely not be able to host you but maybe It will be your lucky day and I will be in Zlin. I cannot host people in Prague unfortunately.

I am an open-minded, friendly, 26-year-old student from the Czech Republic (Morava). What to say about myself... I like adventures and I often put myself out of my comfort zone. For example, I was hitchhiking to Sweden, France and Iceland :). I studied geography (not accurate) combined with development at the University of Palacký (CZ) from September 2016 to the summer of 2020.
I spent a year in Georgia working for the European Solidarity Corps from 2020 to 2021
Now I am finalizing my studies in Olomouc and preparing for work in Prague or worldwide

My hobbies are history, politics, debates, water sports (canoes/kayaks), and 🍺 (well I was born in CZ, what did you expect), computers, and music.
There is one game that I am a big fan of named Factorio (made by WUBE), the best game for engineers, and players of logistical or similar strategies.

We have a dog (12 years+) called Thunderbolt (Blesk in Czech).
Want to know more? Just let me know ;).
Recently I became a cryptocurrency fan and I am interested in decentralised applications, tokens and more.

My long-term goal is to hitchhike from Europe to Australia. And become even better at it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people with interesting stories, hobbies, mentality and opinions. I can share too, so we can talk about it.
I am an active low-cost traveller (not a tourist as I often avoid most tourist places or experience them differently than people who paid for them).
From time to time I need a place where to sleep most of the time. But I really want to spend time with my hosts as much as possible, and I have the best experiences with CS. CS is the best idea for culture sharing and for travellers to meet.

You can also get some advice from local people. It is more powerful than tourist info!
Even if you can not host me you can recommend me something. Or help me with your advice.

Interests

Not necessary to read, feel free to skip this.

I played on drums (I still have my drumset in Zlin) for some years but now I travel more.
I also played on didgeridoo (an aborigine's original instrument from Australia) for almost 20 years, not a master.
I like movies/serials/documents, history, geography(obviously), politics, international relations and diplomacy and lots of science, nowadays mostly social science but not exclusively.

I am not so much to sport but I am a good hiker. My strongest sport is swimming, but thanks to my allergy only sea/ocean and natural water in general (no pools for me usually).

I really like motorbikes, especially the old ones. My father has a Jawa 250 and it is awesome to go somewhere with it. For example Slovakia. It needs some repairs so I was not riding it for a couple of years.

Music, Movies, and Books

You can skip this part if you want.

Music.: AC/DC, Wohnout, Rybičky 48, Nirvana, Eminem, Linkin Park, The Vines, Green day, Derek and the Dominos, Guns´N Roses, Blur, Zakazany ovoce, Led Zeppelin, Yellowcard, Red Hot Chilli peppers (and more and more... :D ), the list is just a taste
Movies.: The edge of Tomorrow, Green Lantern (yes I liked it even though most people don't), Trabants through Continents, My Name is Khan, TIME TRAVEL MOVIES. And so and so on...
Also, I like documents about history or nature, engineering etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A list of things I have done! (Not necessary to read all of those, feel free to skip).

I like challenges. Once I drove (on 46 years old motorbike, Jawa 250 Panelka) more than 150 km to a cinema in a different country just to see a film. Also that same day back home!!
Film: Trabants through continents (Australia version)

I travel with a few friends (sometimes alone) in Nord Europe and West Europe (3 trips in total), with a minimum amount of money. Someday I hope to travel around the world with almost nothing. Just me and the journey
And busking everywhere.

I collect unusual places for sleeping. This is the list I have so far.:
In the British Second World War cemetery, under 2. W.W Tank. In a construction site, in a cave(Calanque), in a small garden house in front of (something like IKEA), on a beach, on the border checkpoint for trucks(Austrian/German), in a storage of sport equipment, in city park, on a field, under the bridge, next to highway, in a smoke area shelter for workers behind some Peguot dealership

I will try to complete the list later. When I will have more stories (Yes I know it is only one amazing thing, but whatever 😂😂)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to improve my English, Russian(currently practising) and Spanish/French(currently not practising so much).
I can tell you anything about my hometown (Zlín - the hometown of Bata the shoe brand, and Czech history and culture.)
If you are interested I can show you how to play on didgeridoo. But it is hard, trust me.
We can talk about anything. I like to stay informed in many fields, like environment science, politics, anthropology, computers, and all science basically.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As usual, towels, bed or couch, some food, drinks, we make our own alcohol (officially including VAT)...

If you are interested in a guided tour around my home town Zlin. I can walk you throw. Just see my references, a lot of people were happy about it. :) I am so proud of that!

Some talks, or a time to rest.
