About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience and enjoy life while I get my master's degree. I firmly believe that the best way to enjoy life is to meet as many people as you can, experience other cultures, and greet everyone with a smile.

ABOUT ME

Oh boy, where to start. I love to do anything outdoors. I go snowboarding, scuba diving, and camping. My favorite leisure activity is swing dancing! I've been doing that for about 12 years now. I love visiting cities I've never been to so I can dance with new people. I have a lot of unique skills as well. I juggle, ride a unicycle, and solve Rubik's cubes in about a minute.

As far as my personality, I am a very laid back guy. I enjoy accepting people for who they are as long as they accept me in return. It doesn't take much to make me happy. As long as I got a roof over my head, people to meet, and a dance floor, I will be smiling and laughing all night!

PHILOSOPHY

Always ask yourself who you are now and who you want to be. Strive to figure out the difference between the two. Make the changes you know you need to make to become the better person you want to be.

Always ask yourself if others see you as a kind, caring, honest, and generous person. Always treat others with respect and dignity. Care for others and they will care for you. The world is just a better place if everyone does this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been couch surfing long before joining this website. It is very common in the dance community to host dancers from out of town. I've often hosted dancers on my couch and in return slept on many a couch as I dance in new cities. When I heard about couchsurfing.org from a friend I thought it would be a great way to expand my couchsurfing beyond just dancers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted dancers during dance events when I lived in California and South Carolina. I've couchsurfed with dancers (often ones I just met that night) as I move around. My best experience was when I moved from South Carolina up to Connecticut. I took about a week and a half to do it. Was so much fun! I danced and slept on couches in Norfolk, Richmond, DC, Philadelphia, and New Haven.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Anything fiction, especially science fiction and fantasy. Favorite author is Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, Sphere) and Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game). I enjoy Dean Koontz as well, but only when I want a really easy read. I'm getting into John Grisham and Tom Clancy. As for the classics I like Frankenstein, 1984, Animal Farm, Scarlet Letter, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Plays I loved reading include Waiting for Godot, The Crucible, and Death of a Salesman.

Movies: I love it all! Great comedies are my favorite, actions are always great, I don't mind a good chick-flick here and there. I also love submarine movies (U571, Hunt for Red October). Specifically I love 12 Monkeys, Minority Report, Mission Impossible, Monty Python, any Muppet Movie, Inception, X-Men, Noises Off, Dumb and Dumber, Austin Powers, and Rocketman.

Music: I love any music from the 80's, especially Michael Jackson and Aerosmith. I'm big on anything swing such as the Cherry Pop'n Daddies and the Squirrel Nut Zippers

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Are you familiar with the song "Albuquerque" by Weird Al? Well one of my cross country road trips took me through Albuquerque, so I planned out so many fun and awesome things to do there! I had reservations at the World Famous Albuquerque Holiday Inn, I ate a big ol' bowl of sauerkraut for breakfast, I enjoyed the towels that were oh so fluffy, I went and bought some donuts, and I even went to the parking lot of the local Sizzler and tried to clean out my excess earwax with a golf pencil.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, France, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States
