ABOUT ME
* Currently living in Budapest as exchange student for academic year 2015-2016.
Hello, everyone! I'm happy to meet new people and help make your stay in Helsinki memorable. For me Helsinki has been great place to live, and think it will be great travel destination for you. Summer or winter, doesn't matter.
My birth home is in Parainen, which is part of Turku archipelago, by the sea and it's really great place to go boating, swimming and visit some islands there during summer. This is something that everyone should experience while visiting Finland. It's truly a unique place! I love it, and so will you!
[Technical thing: Regardless that CS sometimes shows me staying at some crazy locations like Swenden, I'm very much in Helsinki right now.]
PHILOSOPHY
Make positive impact, and now your values. Be active.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently I'm mostly available for hosting but sometimes my work and studies might prevent it. Don't be offended if that happens.
However most of the days, I will have at least some spare time to meet a fellow Couchsurfer for a quick beer or tea. Walking around the city together is always great option too. If you want to get little more adventurous, let me know and we will figure out something. ;)

Interests
Life: It's enjoyable and meaningful to read and discuss big topics that touch each of our lives like society, social dynamics, nature and worldview. For me this is not waste of time but inspiring and life affirming. I'm also self-deveploment junkie! :)
Health: I like learning about different active lifestyles (nutrition & exercise). Sports I enjoy are running (in the forest), football, badminton, ice-skating and (beach) volleyball.
Culture: I really like to experiment with foreing music and movies focusing for example to Korean culture. Different cultures are such enrichning thing.
Everyday: I enjoy many simple everyday things long dinners, night walks, having good laughs etc. Current special interest is paleo vegetarian food! I'm know very much into exploring surroundings of my childhood home in Turku archipelago by boat, bicycle and reading. Since I was born by the sea I love everything about.
Drinks: Running a small brewery producing (drinkable) wine and beer. :) I also like spending time at laid-back pubs.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I've grown recently a lot more strict regarding movies to watch. Not merely consuming movies on entertainment (which also valid position) but also receiving knowledge, motivation to change/grow or feel other cultures and life situations. Recently I watched especially Korean cinema. Great stuff - the way of making movies and choice of topics is somewhat different that I'm used to. Generally I try to watch as much as possible variety of cinema from different countries. Good documentaries can be such motivational thing. Few good documentaries I can recommend regarding my field of work, which eventually touches all of us are Flow: For Love of Water and Blue Gold: World Water Wars.
Music: My earplugs are in heavy use. Learn about my current taste of music: http://www.last.fm/user/paawola
Books: I have been reading way to much, and forgotten even more...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Climbing to the top of Mt. Hallasan in South Korea, which situated 1,950 meters.
2. Sailing in the Turku archipelago between thousands of islands.
3. Enjoying a Gulden Draak - a perfect Trappist beer! :)
4. Trans-Siberia - back and forth.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
1. First anti-teaching warning - I'm a terrible language teacher, and Finnish language is awfully hard language. Unfortunately! :)
2. I can teach you cook some simple vegetarian meals.
3. I like do-it-yourself approach. So ask something, and let see if I have DIY solution for it. If not we invent one together!
Learn:
1. I want to be better swimmer! Hope to someday strong enough swimmer to cope in mild ocean tides.
2. Latin studies!
Share:
1. I enjoy sharing Finnish contemporary culture mainly music and cinema, if my guest/hosts happen to be interested in such thing.
2. I greatly enjoy my current city Helsinki, and I'm happy to explore it more with you.
