Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet new people, travel, and gather stories.
ABOUT ME
I was born and grew up in Nebraska. I love science (such a nerd!), education, traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new things.
PHILOSOPHY
It's so corny, but I'm all about finding yourself and following your heart. I think (or at least I hope) this leads to happiness.
I love having deep conversations about ideas (and generally try to avoid having conversations about people/gossiping). I enjoy art of all types, especially performance art. I love freedom of expression.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined back in 2011 but have been inactive for a few years as I have been travelling. I have just established myself a bit more permanently and am looking to host others coming through the area!
Interests
The great outdoors! I love being outside, whether it be hiking, camping, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, swimming in a pond, etc.
I like creating new things- usually with paper or yarn (my sewing machine isn't here with me, and my drawing skills are poor at best).
I love reading, I think it's a great way to both escape from boredom and learn. When I can't physically travel, I love to pick up a book and get to know the characters in there. While a poor substitution to gathering stories oneself, it helps save some cash until I can leave again.
Music, Movies, and Books
Authors: Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Daniel Quinn
I read anything, from Brothers Karamazov to the ingredients on the cereal box. I'm into history, philosophy, and environmental/nature stuff.
Movies: SLC Punk, Trainspotting, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, anything Marilyn Monroe.
Interests run across the board here. I like most movies I've watched. I'm less likely to pick out a romantic comedy, but will gladly get wrapped into one if my housemates are watching one.
