About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm doing a road trip across the US to see the country and help teach computer science to high schoolers

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going guy, and I like people who are open minded, open to discussion, and do things that they enjoy. I like to meet new people, and am always trying to keep things interesting. I currently do a lot of teaching (beginner programming and often juggling), and enjoy comedy (performing or watching).

PHILOSOPHY

Everything in moderation, including moderation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I backpacked a bit around Europe, and now I'm doing a road trip around the US. Would be great to stay with some couch-surfers along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a few times.

Interests

Right now I work with a friend on a website called CodeHS teaching computer science to beginners (mostly high school students). I'm currently in the process of a two month road trip around the country visiting friends and running workshops at high schools.

I really enjoy comedy, so I like to see or perform standup comedy or improv comedy. I ran a satirical newspaper similar to the Onion called the Flipside at my high school, and then at Stanford for the last seven years ( stanfordflipside.com).

I do a lot of juggling-- mostly club passing--you can see a cool video I am in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTjK0r7V950

I also enjoy learning instruments, and I'm trying to read and write more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a gondola ride to the top of Mount Schilthorn. That was crazy.

Going to the EJC (juggling convention) in Finland.

I met someone in Brussels Belgium for only a few hours while I was backpacking Europe. I carried his jacket all around Europe for over a month, and when I got to Finland, I returned the jacket and he was super friendly and had me over. Essentially, I've been amazed at how kind travelers can be.
