About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Shred hard, there's no need for stress

ABOUT ME

****SORRY I MOVED OUT TO THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE COLORADO AND CAN NOT HOST/ CAN NOT UPDATE MY PROFILE OFTEN******

On my way to becoming verified!

HIIIIIIII My name's Jack and I like to watch people and I often have strange dreams that I like to talk about. I want to see the world as much as the next person, but I'd rather meet it's people and learn and make experiences with them. I'd rather be outside and I'm vegan. I like taking pictures and rock climbing and adventure and optimism. I'm super laid back and a little shy at first, but I am always down for whatever wherever whenever.

PHILOSOPHY

A constant reminder to myself and others:::::
"Rest and be kind, you don't have to prove anything"
"Everything is all right forever and forever and forever"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved back to a summer camp in Colorado and no longer have a house to host nor much internet access. Sorry!!
I couchsurfed a lot when I was studying abroad in Sweden and hosted quite a bit last year in Santa Cruz..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in a few places in Europe so far and gone to several events. Best way to travel.

I may be kind of shy, but if you give me the time I've heard I can be pretty awesome... I think CouchSurfing has really opened me up though, and I'm stoked to get back on some couches.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Dharma Bums" has been a big favorite of mine for a long time, but I'm starting to interpret it differently...
I read the original Dracula earlier in the year; AWESOME.
Also read "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"-- no wonder it's a classic.

Favorite quotes:

"I have all the time in the world from life to life to do what is to do, to do what is done, to do the timeless doing, infinitely perfect within, why cry, why worry, perfect like mind essence and the minds of banana peels"

"Do not burn yourself out. Be as I am-a reluctant enthusiast… a part time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it is still there. So get out there and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains. Run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards."
-Edward Abbey

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the John Muir Trail with my brother this past summer. Best month of my life. ~250 miles over 4 weeks with nothing but the packs on our backs.

Sneaking out at midnight and climbing Pikes Peak (14, 115 ft) by myself
Saw Stonehenge recently.
Hot Springs are always incredible
Came across a Farmer's Festival beneath the Eiffel Tower at midnight with my new friend while we were photo-bombing people's pictures with carrots and eggplants.

Too much other stuff.... I've led a very fortunate existence.
