About Me

I am working on a Masters in music theory at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. I ride bikes. I play unicycle football. I like hugs a lot. I am a vegan and have been for quite some time, but am not militant about it. I have a lot of tattoos and I want a lot more. I like reading and watching movies. I like going to the bar sometimes, but prefer a bar, not a club. (I don't like dancing, but that's cool if you do) I'm sure there's a lot more, but that's what time allows for now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music more than anything. I mainly like classical music, but I grew up with a lot of punk rock and ska. I like a lot of other stuff now as well. I still listen to everything I used to. So my musical taste has grown exponentially. Chances are if you like something because it's good, I probably will too. Not too into electronic music, but there are exceptions.

I like a ton of movies. Wes Anderson movies are my favorite. I also enjoy Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillermo del Toro films. I must admit I have a soft spot for zombie movies, especially old, bad ones.

Books is going to be really hard...Albert Camus, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowksi, Philip Pullman, George Orwell, Virginia Woolf... I don't know that list could go on and on. I like to read is the point.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Upon arriving in Vienna I really wanted to go to Zentralfriedhof to see all of the composer's graves. I had the pleasure of sitting with a friend at Beethoven's grave while we both listened to his third symphony "Eroica" in our headphones. That was pretty amazing to me.
