About Me

I believe that each one of us can make the world a better place for nature, animals and people to live in. That's why I'm a human rights, ecology and citizenship activist since I remember myself. Very much into international travelling and exchanges.

I was born in Aveiro (center-north of Portugal) and lived there until I was 18 years old. Then I studied and lived in Porto and Coimbra. And now I'm living with my boyfriend in the centre of Lisbon, for the last 5 years.

Interests

I love animals, the sea, history, veg/eco-cooking, individual/community politics and people in general, specially connecting and sharing different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie and world music and cinema. Non-fiction and history (specially contemporary) books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 10, in 1994, I won a national Fado (Portuguese music genre) youth contest.
:)

In 2011 I created an event on facebook, that I finally organised together with my friends, that turned into a giant demonstration against precarious labour and unemployment, with half a million people in the streets, in towns all over the country, the "Protesto da Geração à Rasca" (Distressed Generation Protest) - 12th of March

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching and learning and sharing about portuguese and world history, politics or (inter-)culture, gender and gay rights, ecology and music.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Alternative/non-touristic suggestions to visit Lisbon and the whole country - from Fado houses to the most beautiful beaches, eco-villages and alternative community projects. If I can, will be very pleased to have a drink together in one of the beautiful sightseeing spots of Lisbon's hills. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Martinique, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Vatican City State, Wales
