About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mission: Europe 2011/2012.

ABOUT ME

Living at a University residential College for the past 3 years has exposed me to a variety of exchange students from foreign and exotic places. I have had the opportunity to get to know many of them personally and have developed friendships that will last a lifetime. I have been told of how exchange has changed their lives, increased job and friendship opportunities and revealed hidden talents they did not know they had. Going on exchange 2011/2012 will be a chance for me to experience these possibilities for myself; to enhance my experiences, to learn and to grow as a person. I can't wait!

PHILOSOPHY

I just want to be happy. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment since I am new to the CS Project and since I am travelling, I will be hopefully participating as a traveller initially and go from there! Once I have a place established I can try to be a host as well!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't been couch-surfing properly as this website sets up, but I have been travelling in Japan and I just loved meeting the different people and hearing their stories when at backpackers! Last year a few of the ones I met came to Melbourne and I was able to meet up with them for a few drinks and to help plan their visit to the city.

Also recently met a friend when travelling in Mykonos and my girlfriend and I were able to stay with her at her place near Venice and it was a wonderful experience to stay with a local who had valuable knowledge about their area - we even went to a proper Italian celebration for the 15th of August celebrations with a concert and fireworks! amazing!

Interests

I've played baseball all my life, a bit different sport for an Aussie. I also ride a motorbike back home. I play piano to an acceptable level (I think, anyways!). I love to listen to music, and my tastes are quite varied depending on the mood I'm in I may listen to Metal, or Rock, or Dance, Drum & Bass, House, Classical, Jazz, whatever really as long as it pushes the right buttons depending on the mood!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best feelings I've ever experienced was hitting a walk-off hit to win a division 1 baseball game for my home club when I was one of the junior's in the team playing seniors with the 'big boys'. A tied baseball game going into extra's is tense enough, but so so good if you can come through and win it for your team!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like mucking around with Microsoft Excel. Basic functionality with a little bit of macros too. one of my eng subjects in programming helped that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lame jokes, fun times, glass of wine, game of pool/table tennis/whatever :)
