About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently travelling and volunteering my way around Asia. Helping out where I can, meeting new people, seeing new places and living a simpler life for a while

ABOUT ME

I'm Jen. I love volunteering, travelling and meeting new people. I write a couple of blogs http://volunteeraddict.com and http://shegetsaround.co.uk.

PHILOSOPHY

You only get one so make the most of it! I haven't been everywhere yet, but it's on my list!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

About to set off on part 2 of my travels around Asia after a short holiday back home in England. I am hoping to crash on some couches and meet some exciting people over the next few months in Sri Lanka and South East Asia. Though when I return home next year I will definitely be repaying the favour with the comfiest of couches for people to sleep on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the official couchsurfing world, but my current favourite memory was being invited to stay at my trekking guides home with his family for a week while I volunteered in the local school. What an incredibly kind and welcoming family. I hope to return one day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - hmmm probably chick flicks ... or documentaries about nature and animals.
Music - Just about anything, no good with names but my ipod selection is pretty varied
Books - Just bought myself a kindle and I am obsessed. Currently catching up on all the classics I have thus far missed in life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most recent adventures would be trekking to Everest Base Camp, not 100% original, but bloody hard work and so worth it once we made it. I stripped down to my bikini at the top, the adrenaline meant I was bloody hot despite being on a glacier. I recommend the 12 day hike to anyone who loves a bit of a challenge and breathtaking mountain views ... hey who doesn't?!

Teach, Learn, Share

hmm ok I have a decent number of animal impressions under my belt, the peacock, the donkey, chickens...

Failing that, I am a volunteer/charity addict so can try help with connecting you with opportunities around the world or just share experiences of volunteering on 4 different continents.

Countries I’ve Visited

Botswana, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Nepal, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
