ABOUT ME

David and Jamie Lynn (We) strive to be individualists who learn to live in the moment often repeating things like, "Waiting is living too" (mostly when frustrated in traffic or in a long line) or "It's the journey not the destination". We often find ourselves rushing through life becoming too focused on creature comforts and missing so much of what drew me to Psychology in school and David to Philosophy, human interaction. We find ourselves lacking intelligent conversations and witty debates, discussions about not only how things are, but how they became that way and whether we can change them. We long to see different ways of living, loving and learning through new eyes and with willing companions.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to know more today, than I knew yesterday. Make an impact on someone or have someone impact me each day. I strive to open myself to experiences and learn to find the good in those most uncomfortable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We signed up with Couchsurfing after reading the blog of a mutual acquaintance who was using Couchsurfing as a companion and tour to tour through Europe after selling every worldly possession he had. I don't think I can sell my cats, but I would love to make connections to draw me back to Europe or make me smile in my own backyard.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been lucky enough to meet up with Couchsufers locally in the San Francisco Bay Area, with whom we have formed lifelong friendships with. And recently, on the trip to Germany, we had am amazing time dining, chatting and seeing Rocky Horror picture with the local couchsurfers, and visiting members too! That interaction changed our trip to Germany in immeasurable ways...and altered the way that we will approach new cities and travel forever.

Interests

Jamie Lynn has been riding horses since she was a tot. Although she no longer has the space to own one, she can still feel the breeze whipping through her hair as she becomes one with an animal in her dreams.

David is everything and anything technology. He also has founded interests in archery, target shooting, and discussing philosophy and mathematics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Outlander Series, David Eddings Series, Chronicles of Narnia Series, Harry Potter Series (are you seeing a trend here, and yes we're nerds). Jamie also enjoyed Memoirs of Geshia, Water for Elephants, Blindness, Sophie's World and David is well versed in philosophical and classical literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gone to see Rocky Horror Picture show in a small theater in Munich, Germany, with the local couch surfing community. Amazing in that the movie was in English, so while we all had our "props" to throw, no one was quite sure when to throw them. Many hours of laughter ensued.
