ABOUT ME

I am from Santa Marta, Colombia, a small-ish city on the Caribbean coast (I have a noticeable costeño accent when speaking spanish). I have been living in the United States for almost eight years now, first in Houston and currently in Boston where I just finished my Junior year in Chemistry and Biology at MIT.

I have a pretty loud voice, which a lot of people don't expect. I love science (although I have to admit, a lot of high-level math and physics is over my head). I laugh at nerdy jokes probably way more than I should. I like puns. I really enjoy learning the history of different places and peoples. Some people think I'm funny, though your mileage may vary :P

This summer I have an internship at Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France. This is my first time in Europe, so I hope to do some traveling on the weekends and holidays and meet lots of new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't take myself too seriously. That being said, I enjoy meaningful discussions about almost any topic. I would describe myself as mostly a pragmatic person, i.e. I try to be level-headed/rational/logical in all of my views. I can't describe my "philosophy" any better than that.

I mostly watch sitcoms (Arrested Development, Scrubs, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Entourage, etc), although I also like some "serious" shows (Dexter, Big Love).

My favorite movies include The Shawshank Redemption, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, The Princess Bride. I have recently started watching documentaries, which I find really captivating

Favorite books include the Ender's Game series, The Great Gatsby, 1984.

I mostly listen to indie rock (Arctic Monkeys, The Sunshine Underground, Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes), and lately I've been getting into electronic music (Justice, Ratatat, Passion Pit, Air France).
