About Me
CURRENT MISSION
the world is small and very interesting and I aim to be in touch with as much of the world and its people as I can.
ABOUT ME
Daughter Kate says
My mum is a really sociable person, I often joke that she put the 'social' in social worker. Anyway, she's done a lot of travelling, and loves talking to people about it.
Joan says
I was brought up in a small village in North East Scotland, left at 18, going to study Sociology at Edinburgh University. After Uni spent a few years of travelling , including substantial time in India and Germany, and London, and the West Highlands, and then eventually settled in Edinburgh and qualified in social work, which I've been doing ever since, as well as bringing up a daughter.
Interested in world wide politics, travel, some music ( mainly old stuff, rock, soul )cinema, gardening, art and architecture, 20th century, modernism.
PHILOSOPHY
I can dream and plan and it might happen.
And respect one another.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm not participating this year, lots going on, but mainly because my house is being renovated and hardly livable in.
When this is all done, I will be planning travels and hosting a little bit too.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Kate (daughter) has done couchsurfing, and I think its like the 21st century equivalent of hitch hiking, a good thing .You meet people, you can choose, it seems safe.
