About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have fun in my journey through life and learn from my mistakes.
Finding the Ignatian Magis. There are many ways to interpret the Magis, an elusive word that can be taken to mean doing the more, the better, the greater, to achieve the excellence.

ABOUT ME

My name is Juan. I'm a Venezuelan guy, who is always looking for a new adventure .

I am kind a mixture between different cultures and that is actually really interesting . My father is Portuguese and lives in Caracas. He is a quiet man, who taught me to be strong and to fight for my goals. My mother is Italian, and lives with my father. She is responsible for my scientific profile and my curiosity to find out the origin of everything. I am a 21 years old "kid" born in Venezuela.

As I was a kid, I lived in Portugal for 4 years, where I discovered part of my European roots. I consider Portugal as my home. It is an amazing country with an incredible culture. After that, I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela surrounded by friends and family. As a typical Venezuelan guy, I am incredibly friendly, but a bit shy. I am a serious person, but I never lose my sense of humour. And I also love a good party to dance all night long.

I grew up in Caracas and studied in an Ignatian school. Since then, I have a lot of friends, with whom I usually met to drink some birras (bears), just talk or play soccer. I came to Germany in 2017, to do my Bachelor in computer science at Heidelberg University. I am currently living in Heidelberg, Germany.

I love to travel, spend some time with friends, and share my experiences. I also love sports, photography, cinema. I'm a fan of chocolate and the beach, since I am a child.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Even though I don't have much experience in this world, don't judge me because I don't have a lot of references. I am an open-minded person who is willing to discover the world within his own adventures.

Not only you get a place to sleep... But also you share with people willing to share their space with you, to show you around, tag you along with their friends to hangout even when they are busy with their own lives.

Couchsurfing is a totally new experience, that allows me to meet new people, make friends, know a different culture, a new city, and a new country

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- I enjoy from guaracha, salsa, merengue and reggaeton to indie, pop, r&b, and classic rock

Movies- I am not a fan of science fiction movies, but I love Harry Potter. I enjoy deep movies where it makes me think about my life, and I also like some superficial movies to enjoy with friends.

Books- If I tell you that I love reading, that would be a lie. Although, my favourite books are The Little Prince, Blue Label, and some books of Oscar Wilde

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Swim across the Orinoco and Caroni Rivers Race
2. I live by my own since I am 17, and that has made me mostly independent and has increased my interest of meeting new people
