About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make my time on this earth worth my time :)

ABOUT ME

I'm chatty, curious and culturally aware. I love to explore, not only places, but people's minds as well! I'm also a big believer in that a smile is the best form of communication and that if you pay kindness forward it will eventually come back to you, even if it isn't always immediate. Almost a bit like couchsurfing, right? I just moved to France to live with my oh so wonderful boyfriend :), but there is one caveat to this, I don't know a lick of French! Here's to new adventures...!

PHILOSOPHY

When you don't know what to do, do nothing at all, take a step back and let your instincts lead you...they will usually lead you in the right direction.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only just begun to participate, so I'm going to try learning the ropes by getting to know new people and the CS world, and as I advance I will pay my dues and contribute. Promise:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one thus far and it's what got me onto it. My little sister suprised me with trip to the Bahamas and a stay at fellow CS Eddie Hume's house. Elena initiated me and Eddie sealed the deal and got me to become a member. We had a great time and I was amazed at the amount of people I met in the span of only a week. Such great memories!

Interests

I love to read, period. Any kind of reading from books, to magazines to blogs, anything and everything. I love slow living and the art of Dolce Far niente. The idea of being able to enjoy your surroundings and take mere pleasure in just being makes me giddy. Why? Because I've done the fast paced life and it's just not for me. Being able to take it down a notch has gotten me out and meeting new people, as well as discovering new places, cultures and foods. Isn't that what it's all about?

Music, Movies, and Books

Book: The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck (It took me years to read it, but once I did I realized how many lessons can be learned from it and how history continues to repeat itself).
Movie: The Lover
(I saw it as a young girl and the story and cinematography just captivated me).
TV: I'm not a big TV watcher, but I love great TV series such as Mad Men and Entourage, as well as classics such as LOST, Sex in the City and the Soprano's.
Music: The Return to Innocence by Enigma
(What can I say, I've just always liked it and the video even more.
Blogs and Magazines: Too many too mention, I can look at lifestyle, cooking, travel, etc... blogs and magazines all day long!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I see and do amazing things everyday, I tell my family, friends and boyfriend that I love them. I do things that I love to do and I try to laugh a lot and not take myself too seriously.

Other than that, it might have to be when I got to travel for the first time from the USA to Spain when I was six. My parents couldn't go because of work so they tearily handed me over to the Airline Attendent and my grandparents tearily picked me up in Spain (for it had been the first time I'd been back since I was two years old). With my backpack on and a layover in Madrid where I got to hang out with all of the Pilot's and Attendents my very first travel experience (that I can remember, anyhow) was a success! The rest, as they say,is history...

Teach, Learn, Share

"...Grim land, dim land, oh, how the vastness calls!
Far land, star land, oh, how the stillness falls!
For you never can tell if it's heaven or hell,
And I'm taking the trail on trust;
But I haven't a doubt
That my soul will leap out
On its Wan-der-lust."
