About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Nonstop cabaret.

ABOUT ME

I am going to NYU to do grad work in Cognitive Psychology. I have pretty strong connections to: Near-Eastern Canada (not the Maritimes, sadly), Seattle (whence I'm writing this), and the Twin Cities, which I usually get out to at least once a year cus my whole extended family is from there.

I think I'm pretty cool, but it's hard to prove on the internets.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to remain cool with the whole eternal return idea. Although eternally is a lot of times to return. Maybe just once or twice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have never hosted anyone from this site, but I host all my friends whenever they come to NYC and I think they've mostly had good experiences.

I have one couch that is usually free, when my roomates aren't hosting anybody.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never couchsurfed (yet) but I love calling up people I have tenuous connections with and asking to stay with them. It's really usually pretty cool. People have done it to me too and I pride myself that I'm pretty good at hosting them. I've usually got kind of an extended list in my head at any given time of stuff I'd do with or show visitors, and we do what we've got time for.

Interests

I was the web editor for a dying student literary magazine, stepsmagazine.ca, and now I'm the web editor for a dying cafe, pedott.com.

Music, Movies, and Books

I guess these days I've been sort of hedonistic in my musical choices. I like things that are really catchy or make you feel awesome inside. Aka Ed Banger or Mad Decent or Johnny Cash.

I also like NPR a lot when I can get it.

I have an inexplicable but persistent preference for books from Canada, like Mordechai Richler or Douglas Coupland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped off a cliff near Anacortes in Washington and didn't die but my friends said what I yelled when I realized how far I was falling was pretty hysterical.

Teach, Learn, Share

Besides nunchucks and stuff I guess I'm good at making websites.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Germany, United States
