About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living richly and becoming experienced in the world
ABOUT ME
I am an easygoing, adventurous person. I know this sounds cliché for couchsurfing, but I love meeting new people and hearing different worldviews and experiences. I love getting outdoors and live in a perfect place to do so. If possible I would love to show you all that is great about this town. I love taking advantage of all the recreation opportunities as well as cooking and just having great conversations and learning about other places and cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am working as a government scientist in Darwin, and I would love to show people the kind of hospitality that I have encountered while traveling and live vicariously through the traveling experiences of others. The one thing I ask of travelers is to not treat this like a hotel or something and actually take a little time to actually hang out and share your experiences...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed in Spain, Hungary, and Hawai'i and hosted numerous times...
Interests
I love exploring (and procrastinating) and I live in the perfect place to do both. Right now most of the work I do is statistics, and I do enjoy math, but my real passion in environmental biology, and I hope I can use my statistical skills to do something meaningful in a tropical forest one day.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bluegrass is probably my favorite type of music, but I love indie rock as well, and I am happy listening to most anything. I have recently started to listen to (and try to dance to) salsa, as well as Cuban Son. I also find myself enjoying the local folk music wherever I travel.
I love a good fantasy novel, George RR Martin and Roger Zelanzy are recent favorites. I also like environmental non-fiction (Tim Flannery and Farley Mowat come to mind)...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing a Jaguar staring at us when I was working in Bolivia.
Having a bonfire on a mountainside while watching the sun set over the inside passage in Southeast Alaska.
Watching an impromptu guitar and banjo picking session under a full moon outside a restaurant in the middle of nowhere on the edge of Glacier National Park.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to show anybody who visits around Tassie. I also have extensive experience travelling around the US (I have been to 44 states) and I have alot of knowledge regarding great places to visit and I am happy to help you plan your trip. Also I can tell you all you want to know about the forests of Tassie...
Anyone willing to practice Spanish with me will be greatly appreciated!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to cook for you! I make a mean Indian curry....
