About Me

ABOUT ME

I've been working in the Film Festival world for over three years, recently taking some time off to travel and wait for whatever comes next. I'm a huge music and film junkie, love to cook, and will stay up until sunrise for a good conversation and drinks.

PHILOSOPHY

I haven't yet found my place in the world, so I'm traveling to see if I stumble upon it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the CS community, but in fall of 2007 I made my way across the country staying on the floors of friends, friends of friends, and anybody else we could find who was willing. I've also met some of my favorite travel friends while staying in hostels around the world.

Interests

I like to make candies (truffles, taffies...), and will do almost anything so long as it's over a glass of wine, whiskey or beer.

At home I'm more of an "indoor" person- coffee shop, theater, bar; but when I travel I like to hike and explore new places as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Film- the list of films I'm interested in is too long to type here, but I run the gamut from the pretentious art-house films to kung-fu action-fests. Favorites would be American Splendor, The Triplets of Belleville, Fargo, M, Shoot the Piano Player...

Music- Indie rock (TV on the Radio, Why?, Neutral Milk Hotel, Dodos, Broken Social Scene...), Jazz (Bill Evans, Mingus, Brubeck...), Classic Rock (Hendrix, Joplin, Dead...)

Books- Kundera, Murakami, Vonnegut...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My best friend and I bungee-jumped off of a bridge in Costa Rica, having only traveled there last-minute because he injured his foot and was forced to take a temporary leave from work.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- film & music knowledge, candy making

Learn- your culture

Share- I'd love to share my music with you and hear your favorites
