Overview
About Me
I am currently a research fellow from Harvard University staying in Paris for one year. I love hiking, painting, and eating macarons. My research is on Chinese immigrant art in Paris in the 1920s and today.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to meet new people in my travels and find out more about the places I'm staying in from the locals!
I really value learning about the history and culture of the places that I visit instead of just hitting all the tourist spots and I think the best way to do that is to talk to locals!
Interests
- running
- painting
- hiking
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a pretty indecisive person so not sure if I can declare a "favorite" of anything. But I am currently reading/listening to:
Music - Bad Veins, Stromae, Explosions in the Sky
Reading - Americanah, Moonwalking with Einstein
Movies - anything by Wes Anderson, Amélie, Inception
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ride a sand dune buggy in Peru across the desert in Huacachina
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach - how to make foods in a coffee mug, process of writing Chinese calligraphy, anything from Wilderness First Aid, why it's important to build technology for social impact
Learn - French slang, how to write a good conclusion, Adobe Lightroom tricks, cheesemaking
Share - conversations and stories!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversations about everything from race issues in the US to how to make dumplings to what it's like to be a 1.5th generation immigrant!
