ABOUT ME

Hi we're James, Sylvie and Maui. Both parents 32 years old from the Geneva area but of French and British backgrounds. Maui is 20 months old. We care for our natural world and our oceans, as James works in marine conservation & communications. Sylvie is a flight attendant and also a French teacher. We live in Veigy-Foncenex, been together for 10 years, married for 2, and now parents! We look forward to meeting you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are settled in Veigy-Foncenex (France) near Geneva, Switzerland, and we can host up to 1 person on our couch in our flat. We hosted in Geneva a few times already, and are happy to host some more whenever we can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We stayed with couch-surfers in Wellington NZ and we've regularly bumped into couch-surfers here and there. I hosted a couch-surfer for a week in Port Douglas and we are good friends, and we hosted in our flat in Geneva.

Dexter, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Californication, True Blood, Eastbound and down. The Big Blue by Besson, Dreams by Kurosawa, Ocean documentaries, BBC documentaries, most documentaries, National Geographic channel, Man vs. Wild. Sylvie reads more than I do, but I like reading when isolated on desert islands.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The craziest thing we (both) did was the tandem canyon swing in Queenstown NZ, the world's highest swing (nevis arc), 134m above a canyon, with a 60m freefall. We got engaged underwater, in March 2012, in Savusavu, Fiji!

Teach, Learn, Share

We are knowledgeable in our own fields, diving and communications for James and languages, airplanes and literature for Sylvie. We are happy to learn about your ways, your culture and what you're into as well! We are happy to cook nice french crepes and discuss French vs foreign wines! We travel to experience, to meet and discover not only distant lands but their people.
