About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to be happy with the way things are without always wanting more and getting better at making decisions. I also just became a business partner - so growing our business!

ABOUT ME

I am a really organised, structured German person (at least most of the time). I can also be quite a lot of fun, though! I have to admit that I'm someone who is not too keen on change but almost every time something changes, I'm positively surprised by the outcome. So I'm trying not to get stuck somewhere and to be as open-minded as possible. I usually live in Brisbane but now and again I'm getting drawn back home ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed a bit here and there and take up the opportunity again when I'm travelling. While I haven't really hosted through my profile, my partner and I have hosted lots of people from all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experiences with CS were quite a while ago here in Australia. My friend and I had just finished school and were ready to tackle the world. Back then CS was fairly new and people hadn't really heard of it. Looking back now, I really wonder how we managed to do this without smart phones and mobile internet. (We spent a considerable amount of time in libraries and internet cafés.. ;))

Interests

I spend most of my time with friends, reading, making and listening to music, baking or cooking, drinking wine, enjoying the outdoors. Normal things, really.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in movies is a bit unusual. Sometimes I like girly stuff but trashy horror is not bad either. My favourite author is Haruki Murakami. Music-wise, I have been rediscovering my youth recently (e.g. Bloc Party) but I also love Sigur Rós and folk music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I suppose I mostly enjoy finding something special in everyday life. Little moments and interactions that amaze you are more my thing than big exciting adventures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you all about recycling (I am German after all!). Love having discussions about language and learning new things about how languages work. Cooking and sharing recipes and ideas.
If you can teach me about marketing through social media and the like, that would be awesome!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking, so dinner would probably be it. Always happy to supply wine to go with dinner as well :). And I would like to believe that I can share my happiness as I've been told that I smile more than people usually do.
