About Me

Hey there! I'm Jo, an Aussie from the Sunshine Coast with an appreciation for meaningful travel connections.
I'm heading overseas to explore new cultures, landscapes, and stories - the best memories come from the people you meet rather than just the places you check off a list. I love staying with welcoming hosts who genuinely enjoy sharing their home, local tips, and conversations. I'm not after a free night - I'm after real exchanges, whether that's hearing about your city from a local perspective, swapping travel stories, cooking a meal together, bringing good vibes and respect to your space.

A bit about me: I'm in my thirties, clean, considerate, and flexible with plans. I enjoy nature, meaningful chats, learning about people that just love their place, I have a big and very close family and am going to miss my dog ever so much during my travels! I'm a non-smoker, enjoy the occasional beverage but nothing wild, and I always tidy up after myself - I'm an AirBnb host back home so I understand reviews, connection, presence!

Looking forward to connecting with kind-hearted hosts who value cultural exchange and helping travellers feel at home. If our paths cross, I'll bring gratitude, curiosity, and some Aussie spirit to share - and of course welcome you to tell me how I can thank you for hosting me <3

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m couchsurfing because I believe the best way to really experience a place is through the people who live there. Hotels and hostels are fine, but they keep you in a bubble - I want the real stories, the hidden spots, the local rhythms that only come from chatting with someone who calls a place home.
I’m drawn to generous hosts who enjoy sharing their space, a cuppa (or a bev), and their perspective on life. It’s not about saving money; it’s about cultural exchange, building short but meaningful connections, and leaving with friends instead of just photos. I love bringing good energy, respect for your home, and curiosity in return.

I travel to connect. If you’re the kind of host who gets a kick out of welcoming travellers and showing them your world, I’d love to cross paths!

Crowned fastest female snowboarder on a Japanese mountain. Hosted a new event in my town, bringing 15,000 attendees for an unknown, first time event.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you classic Vegemite toast techniques (with the right butter-to-Vegemite ratio), or give you the lowdown on Sunshine Coast life, and Aussie chats. I'm happy to chat about travel stories, or whatever random knowledge I've picked up along the way in this little life I have.

Learn: I'm super open - teach me your local recipes (I'm always keen to learn new street food or home-cooked dishes), a few phrases in your language, cultural quirks, or hidden gems in your city that tourists miss. Teach me how to be a local. Bonus points if it's something hands-on like cooking together or a quick skill swap!

Share: Good vibes, respect for your home, curiosity about your world.
Looking forward to learning from each other.
