ABOUT ME

I grew up in a rural town in North West England and its isolated setting gave me a great curiosity for different cultures and a passion for adventures, travelling and learning new perspectives.

I am currently based in Manchester but I often feel a great urge to escape the city and experience life in other places. I've been lucky enough to spend one year studying in Spain and one year working in Venezuela and I am always seeking new adventures and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed on a couple of occasions and when I finish my crazy teaching course in summer 2012, I would LOVE to show visitors the hidden gems of Manchester and the surrounding area. Unfortunately I am working 15 hour days at the moment so I am no fun :(.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just joined the couchsurfing network but I have couch surfed before using friends' contacts.

Interests

Things I especially like:
Adventures, learning new languages, laughing, long bike rides, playing the saxophone, dancing salsa and bachata, living by the sea, starry skies, drinking coffee, hiking, WWOOFing, sunsets, tropical rain, capoeira.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living by the Caribbean Sea in Venezuela for a year.
Hitch-hiked from Manchester to Spain.
Six day 'Roraima' trek on the Venezuelan and Brazilian border.
Climbed Mount Fuji in Japan on an overnight hike in torrential rain and very strong winds. Now that is a long story......
