About Me

Mostly cheerful, a little silly, and always terrified of the recklessness of governments and the industry regarding climate change, we're a Brazilian couple living in Portugal.

We are a gay couple that has been together for over nive years and during this time we got to do amazing things, such as travel around beautiful Brazilian beaches, watch our favorite drag queens perform, and learn how to live our lives together as the responsible, successful, vivacious and, most of all, humble adult couple that we became. We enjoy discovering new places and finding out about different cultures. Our hobbies include getting slightly tipsy and reading random pages on Wikipedia, looking for apartments online we won't rent, or watching random videos on YouTube related to geography stuff. In the spare time, Wallacy works as Product Manager and João is a doctor.

We're passionate about people, places, and their stories. A perfect evening is to have some cheap wine (good quality, of course, we are in Portugal!) during the many sunsets of Porto and enjoy a good conversation with someone who is worth it. We also absolutely LOVE the carnival and deeply miss being able to drink and twerk on the streets. If you have the chance to be part of this one-of-a-kind phenomenon, lucky you: don't think twice, go!

Hope to see you soon :)

[DISCLAIMER]
We receive many requests, so please avoid sending generic ones, we'll probably say no to them :)
(Of course we understand if you're out of time and use the same message for everyone but at least try to tell us a little bit about yourself and your plans!)

Also, sometimes we receive requests asking to leave luggage here, we won´t be accepting those. That´s not our objective :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The diversity of people you can find here is incredible, which suits us well because we love meeting (interesting) people! Even better if you are LGBT (if not it's ok as well, but poor you!!)
Basically, we are looking forward to meeting people from different countries to know about their places, their culture and also show around our city! (And, who knows, eventually go after them in their hometown!)
Even though we have moved here recently we are delighted with the city and we are always exploring the many parks and cafes around, so part of the plan is to show those places to our invitees!!

Our house is an LGBT (and straight) friendly place. If you have any problems with that, don't even send a request and go seek some therapy :)

Interests

Food, politics, music, urbanism, traveling... and we love gardening! We used to have an urban jungle in our place back in Brazil and now we're collecting new plants and learning how to grow them in very different weather conditions.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love pop music, but when we're chilling we mostly listen to R&B or jazz, which means we're into divas - doesn't matter if Lady Gaga or Ella Fitzgerald.

We like dystopian literature and Latin American authors. One of our goals is to read as much as we used to read in the past.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the New Year's Eve fireworks over Copacabana beach (2x)!

Teach, Learn, Share

We like to practice some spanish and we can also share some tips on indoor gardening and Brazilian cuisine! We would die to learn to cook something from your family cookbook.
