About Me

Hello! My name is Joan and I'm from Germany. I'm a 30 years old student, who just loves to travel around the world. I've seen most of the European countries and I'm obsessed with the UK. I've travelled three times the USA (last time I did a roundtrip and I can't wait to go back to South California and Colorado), once Canada (Newfoundland, and yes I got screech-in, so I'm basically half Newfoundlander). I lived half a year in Turkey and last year I've been for the first time in Caucasus.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why I'm using "Couchsurfing"? I think that is obviously! Because I want to meet new people and make new friends. I want to know how you guys live and why this place is so special to you. I just love to get in touch with locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love traveling, but I love books even more. I'm deeply in love with the Harry Potter series, and nothing will ever change that. But besides J. K. Rowling's masterpiece, I fancy authors like Jussi Adler Olsen, George Martin, Simon Beckett, Trudi Canavan, Margaret Atwood, William Shakespeare and much more..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made so many beautiful experiences. I did a trekking tour through Wales and woke up next beautiful cows.
While I travelled through Turkey I had the chance to see how natives live in East-Turkey.
I hiked part of the East Coast Trail and did whale watching.
I lost my phone in Portland and honest, amazing people just brought it right back to me.
I got stucked in Kansas because of a blizzard and had the chance to hang around with some good, crazy people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know if I can really teach you stuff. If you are interested in learning German or Mongolian, we can do this. I'm not a too bad cooker and really good baker. I mostly cook/ bake vegetarian/ vegan.

Countries I’ve Visited
