My current mission is to see as much of the world as possible, and meet nice and interesting people on the way :)

ABOUT ME

My name is Joana and my friends describe me as a nice, funny and outgoing girl. I absolutely love travelling and meeting other cultures - when I was 16 years old, I set out to a foreign exchange year in South America, Chile. At the moment, I'm trying to get to know more of Europe.
Also, I love children (I have several little siblings) and any kind of animals (I have a beautiful cat).

PHILOSOPHY

I am convinced that by participating actively on Couchsurfing, we can all make a huge impact, which we will probably realize only afterwards. I think meeting new people, getting to know about them and their country and being given or to give a place to sleep makes all of us more open-minded. If everybody acted according to this site's philosophy, it could really make the world a better place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the summer of 2012, I made a Interrail tour with a friend of mine called Miriam (I uploaded a photo of the two of us). During this trip we were hosted a lot of times and always made very good experiences. All the people we´ve met and all the places we´ve seen made this trip an unforgettable experience :) Since my hometown is a very small town there was no request for a hosting even thought that i wanted to host. Well now that i am living in Fribourg there may will be more requests?! It would be great to give back something for the great hosts we had and also I would like to share my culture and get to know yours.

Interests

I'm very interested in cultures and travelling, but that probably applies to everybody on this website :) Apart from that, I'm very fond of music (I've played several instruments in my life), I like movies, cooking and being creative in any way. Also, I am totally a family person!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing in the Atacama desert in Chile - one of the most inspirational moments in my life. I had the feeling of being so insignificant in the face of nature!
