About Me

I'm a Polish literature graduate, currently studying psychology and making very unrealistic plans to someday open a mental health centre on a self-sufficient eco farm. I enjoy crafting, sewing, sketching and other creative activities, I also love to be around nature. I’ve been told that I'm rather a lively person, easy-going and over-excited about little nice things (well at least I hope it wasn't an euphemism for being chaotically talkative or something). I gusess I'm eager to collect new experiences but also I'm never really in hurry - a day spent cooking vegetarian pasta and talking is just as much fun as visiting four art galerries and scuba diving. I value open-mindness and empathy and try to be better and better at those. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Wherever I go, I'm always up for a real cultural exchange - I want to see new places through the eyes of people who live there, because that's where a place's heart is. I think staying at somebody's home and hosting travelers are amazing opportunities to get to know how others see the world. And, of course, it makes the world more accesible for someone on a student's budget.

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything Wes Anderson makes is amazing, but Grand Budapest Hotel is perfect. I'm also a bit of a Studio Ghibli fan.
As for music, I am much more ignorant than I want to be, which means I’ll be more than happy to know what you all are listening to! My Spotify says I’m into indie, rock, indie rock, skate-punk (??) and murder folk (????) so I guess I am open for different tunes.
My love for literature is still recovering after 4 years of studying it, I know some of the newest Polish poetry (which is a very niche interest even for my fellow students), other than that I just pick up random books with pretty cover design, I like poetic prose and hate popular science literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I managed to flip a pancake on the pan (you know, without any pancake-flipping tools) 5 times in a row before it landed on the floor. I guess I did get over-excited.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you a short course on Polish language, literature and culture in general, I can discuss the existence of soul and how memes are a new form of communication. Aaand talk a lot about drawing tools! I l don’t feel competent enough yet to give psychological advice, but I love discovering all different ways we cope with life challenges and I can be a good listener. I’d also really like to learn more about #seriousstuff, like equality and climate change, etc. And of course I’m eager to exchange travelers’ stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make you some Polish food, pet your dogs/guinea pigs/lizards, teach you how to make crepin flowers (or other random crafts little scouts do, while I bore you to death with talking about why scouting needs to be reformed). Oh, I can spend whole night playing board games! But also, if you are a busy surfer it's absolutely fine, I can can be a ninja and you won't even notice you ever hosted me.
