Overview
About Me
I live, go to grad school, and work in Detroit. For work, I spend time with small businesses and entrepreneurs helping them navigate the resources in Detroit for one job. For the other, I work on a program called Detroit SOUP; it's a community micro-funding event that helps groups in Detroit complete their projects with seed funding from their peers. Aside from those things, I go to grad school for Library and Information Science. When I'm not doing that stuff, I write and edit for an online publication called The Awesome Mitten where we highlight how great Michigan is for people who live and travel to the state.
That's a lot of "stuff" that I do. At the end of the day, I am a student of people and I want to help in anyway that I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel is important to understanding people and the world we all live in. That being said, I think that travel is most impacted by the people you meet and the experiences you gain from those encounters. I feel like Couchsurfing is a great way to find like-minded folks in other parts of this big blue world and learn with them.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is too varied to really delve into deeply. I will probably be able to relate to someone on something because reading is the bee's knees and music is what moves us.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I like to think that I live a life that I will one day be able to write about. I'm not sure I can pick one moment that I define as incredibly amazing, but I do know that living and working in Detroit has changed my life for the better in so many ways.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've heard a rumor that people want to know more about what's going on in Detroit. I'm pretty "in it" every day, so I'd be happy to share what I know so far.
I like people and such, so I'd love to talk about whatever it is that makes sense (or doesn't).
