About Me

Hey! I'm Joanna from Poland. I have just graduated from Poznań University of Technology and I was working as programmer. I like meeting new people and get to know their points of view of many different aspects. I would love to visit many countries. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Before I found out about CS, I hosted more than 30 people from different countries. They were volunteers who come to Poland through AIESEC. This was amazing and unforgettable experience. I had chance to meet some of them while travelling and still keep in touch with some of them. That's why I wanted to try also CouchSurfing! Right now I move from place to place, so I don't have possibility to host but I want to do it again once I settle in some place :)

Interests

I'm interested in world history and issued, different cultures and customs.
I love trying new things, even if they are weird for me.

In my free time, I like art, music, dancing and, of course, meeting with my friends and have fun!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was volunteer in China for 6 weeks. Even though not all went as planned, I still learnt a lot during that time. I was teaching freshmens in high school in small city in China. I gave lessons about culture diversity, World problems, tolerance, team work and also english. I travelled in north, west and middle China. I climbed the Great Wall, visit many ancient places, temples but also tried local chinese life: eat barbaque on the street, dance or do tai-chi in parks.

Summer 2019: I volunteered again as an English teacher in Hanoi, Vietnam for one month. It was my best vacation time in my life. I enjoyed teaching and my students were extremely nice to me. I could deeply immerse in the culture by living with my students, cooking together, going out... I was suppose to stay for 3 weeks, but I decided to stay for the whole month, giving up my travelling to center and south of Vietnam. Well.. till next time. I understood that this kind of interaction with locals were way more precious for me than seeing places. For example, lunch or dinner with local family (even if they cannot communicate with me) is definitely one of amazing things I've done. I also had some couchsurfing meet-ups with people who showed me even different life styles of Vietnam. Thanks a lot!
