About Me
ABOUT ME
I am currently making my way from Vancouver, Canada to the southern tip of the Americas, along with my trusty bicycle Black Terrence. So far we have seen and done some incredible things - you don't miss much when you're only going 10km per hour!
PHILOSOPHY
Hmm, I think as long as you're good to those around you and never stop challenging yourself and donig new things, then you can't go far wrong.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to get to know the people and places of the countries I'm passing through a bit better through the site, and then to continue the adventure by hosting when I eventually return to the 'real world'.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None so far, but I have met many couchsurfers along the way who have all had good stories to tell, and so here I am to join in the fun.
Interests
I love music (preferably live, and preferably hardcore Scottish folk music), and have a room full of instruments that I can't actually play. My other interests include languages, cycling, reading, bouldering, whisky, hiking and eating. Lots of eating.

Music, Movies, and Books
'Out there things can happen,
And frequently do,
To people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen,
Don't worry, don't stew,
Just go right along, you'll start happening too.'
-Oh, The Places You'll Go. Dr Suess.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A highlight is definitely freewheeling 17 miles down into Yosemite Valley (possibly the most beautiful place I've ever seen) at sunset, after cycling uphill for two days to earn the pleasure! Also, camping in the middle of the beautiful and desolate desert in Baja California, Mexico, was pretty spectacular.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people to do maths and knit hats, and am open to learning pretty much anything. I guess learning is why I love to travel.
