À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

To never stop smiling, and make the most out of life! Because life is beautiful, as is this world we live in and the people that live in it :)

ABOUT ME

... Is this the bit where i get to talk myself up? :-p
Only Messing!

I'm from Melbourne (Australia), but have spent most of the last 10 years on the road. The last few years iv been traveling and living in different parts of Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, Asia, South, Central and North America and now Europe, my new home (which i love)! :)

As for me, I'm an easy going, fun loving, honest and opened minded person. Always up for a laugh, learning, seeing and experiencing new places, cultures and most importantly, meeting new people :)

I have a passion for start'ups, the amazing outdoors and travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

'The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.'

'In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away' - shing xiong

'Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like no one is watching.' - - Randall G Leighton

'Why give a man a fish, when you can teach him how to fish'. - unknown

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Previously a host in Buenos Aires. Often use when travelling as great way to meet awesome likeminded people and truely get to see a new place and culture. Once I get settled on couchsurfing I will host again :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first started couch surfing this year in Brazil, after a friend who was a CS host in Malaysia told me how great it was. My first experience was during carnival, and what can I say, it was one of the best experiences of my life!! My friends that I stayed with in Rio are now like family to me, and i recently went back to visit them on the way to Argentina. After carnival, i couch surfed my way around Brazil, and each and every person that I met along the way was truly incredible (Thanks guys xx)! My host's really made Brazil what it was- amazing! The people that you meet couch surfing are the most relaxed, down to earth, friendly, open minded, caring, beautiful people that you will ever meet! Couch surfing isn't just about meeting cool people, having the time of your life, learning a new language, really getting to know the country, the culture, and experiencing life like a local, but its also a chance to make the most amazing friends all over the world :) xx Its a beautiful way of bringing the world together. I love it!

Since then, I've couchsurfed around Europe which has been awesome! Looking forward to the many more experiences and great convo's to come!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I'm pretty open to all movies... accept for horror movies, not such a fan of those... (such a girl, I know)! lol. :P
I'm really into international film festivals around the world, and would one day love to work on/ or do my own documentary or short film! :)

Love all types of music! Suggestions are always welcome :)

Travel books & non fiction are my favourite for sure! But I love all types of literature, biography's, fiction, poetry, etc.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Impossible to list one, there's just way way way to many!! ( but I'll just select one from a few countries which i wrote about 5 years ago..)

China:
-Tiger Leaping Gorge Trek - stunningly breathtaking!!
-Hitch hiking a donkey ride down a mountain in Dali after getting stuck up the top at night with a bunch of very drunk park rangers & their machetes!

Laos - Celebrating the Pai Mai water festival in Veng Vien - it was incredible!

Thailand - Becoming friends with Mr. Thailand (the crazy little Thai man on the pimped up cyclo who cruises down Koh San Rd of a night playing johnny cash & akon full blast- he's a champion!)
- Chiang Mai Trek, off the track! Was incredible!
- The remote islands on the west coast of Thailand. (& where i learnt juggling and fire twirling). So natural, untouched and has a crazy bunch of Thai hippies living there! Not to mention the cool but crazy crocodile man! (but thats a whole other story lol) Was incredible!

Malaysia - Langkawi Island, sneaking into a private beach, where the security guard actually gave us his walky talky to radio us when we had to leave! Classic!
On the same island, meeting the most amazing locals ever, who took us across to a private island where we camped out for 3 days, collected our own wood for the fire, caught our own fish to eat, drank a lot of beer and played a lot of music! No words can describe how amazing that experience was, it was incredible! Langkawi for me is the most amazing Island in the world!

Burma
- Climbing up to Kyaiktiyo (The golden rock)- no words can describe, but it took my breath away.
- Shwedagon pagoda - one of the most beautiful temples iv ever seen! (That and the Golden Temple in Punjab in India)

Cambodia:
- Motorbike riding through the countryside of Battambang, and then stopping for lunch which consisted of; snakes, spiders, cockroachs, silk worms, and the Cambodian famous "special hard boiled egg" - delicious :-P

India:
-EVERYTHING!
- Dui Island in Guderatt - randomly stumbling across the most amazing hindu dance festival!
-Driving a motorbike through the city of Pushkar (*note* not recommended for the faint hearted)!
- A Camel trek in Kurie through the desert when the eclipse was on.
- Dharamsala & Ladak!! AMAZING!! Meeting the Dalai Lama and going to his teachings with the pilgrims.
- Acting in a bollywood movie in Mumbai.
-Going out to the slums (close to where slum dog millionaire was filmed) with a few friends and blowing up balloons in the shape of animals for the children.
- Surviving swine flue in Delhi!

Sri Lanka:
- Nights out in Colombo at the little underground bars with the locals.
- seeing the ocean light up with electric green lights underneath it, phenomenal!

Brazil- Carnival (not in the main areana but on the streets), hands down, it was amazing!!
Samba'ing & Forro'ing the night away in Salvador, and going to watch my friends play live music @ Mom, Pelo & R.V

Argentina - Working as a camp counselor on English immersion camps, which involves getting dressed up as a pirate, hippy, spy, etc, whilst traveling to different places all around the country. And not to mention, working with such amazing people!
