About Me

CURRENT MISSION

revolution. personal and political.

ABOUT ME

I've lived all over the US (all three coasts) and in Asia and Europe. I currently hang my fedora in New Orleans, LA.--the closest you can get to living outside the US in its borders.

PHILOSOPHY

The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways, the point, however, is to change it. --Karl Marx

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to this formalized social-networking-enhanced couch-surfing experience, though I've been a couch-surfer for many years. My best stint of couch-surfing happened in central Europe in the late 90's (in the winter, no less!). I hitchhiked around with my dear friend Julia, making friends and staying in squats along the way. Although I prefer heating and showers now (especially showers), I will never forget the warm embrace we got in places like Berlin (Koepi) and Poznan, Poland (Rozbrat), where through hand gestures and dance moves we were able to communicate with our hosts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up listening to indie and punk rock with some metal thrown in, but now I'm just as likely to listen to hip hop and brass bands (New Orleans, y'heard?). I'll go with you to some live music. And I'm an avid reader. I've always got about four books going. I live two blocks from a library and I'm its number one patron.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a malotov cocktail thrown at my school bus when I was in sixth grade. Buy me a beer and I'll tell you about it.
