Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had several people stay with me in Scotland and I've always had positive experiences, with many lasting friendships made. Equally I've enjoyed time with CS hosts in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia and California and one couch surfer who visited me in Scotland inspired me to cross the globe to meet her again in Australia.

Interests

I like roller derby, knitting, making things, poi, acro-balance, reading, yoga, fine food and good wine, cooking, baking, camping and festivals. I play guitar really badly and have recently started reteaching myself to play the fiddle after a 14 year gap. "Play" might be a bit of an exaggerated description of the noises I can currently make, but I'm working on it. I'm also learning Spanish, and my skills there are probably on par with that of my fiddle playing abilities.

I love the ocean, the desert, the night sky full of stars, and wonderful people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite a variation of all. I'm pretty open minded and love to hear and learn about new music, books and movies. Currently I'm absorbed in reading Vonnegut and listening to Sixto Rodriguez, The Goat Rodeo Sessions and North Atlantic Oscillation.

My favourite author, and one of my all time favourite humans is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Some of my all time favourite movies are Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Boy, Mary & Max, Fargo and Withnail and I

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo skydiving in Scotland. My first time was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Staying in a tree house in the woods where I met a small clan of Faeries, who played hand made instruments and taught me how to relax and see the beauty in the world.
