Hello! I'm Joanne and I'm a 22 year old English graduate, currently travelling around New Zealand. I am looking to settle down with Au Pair work in NZ but looking for places to stay in the mean time before I get a host family! I have just done a Contiki tour round both the North and South Islands and I have fallen in love with the country. Eventually I plan to go into secondary school teaching but for now I'm more than happy travelling around,!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was recommended to join by a friend I met in my first week in New Zealand, who said it was a really awesome way to meet new people and keep to a budget! Hopefully I can meet as many awesome people as she has!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, I don't particularly have a favourite genre but if I had to pick it would either be the 'classics' or children's literature (I'm borderline obsessed with Harry Potter). I watch a lot of TV shows, some of my favourites being Grey's anatomy, Game of Thrones and Orange is the New Black... but I'm happy to watch anything! Same goes for films, I love a good horror film, but I pretty much enjoy most of the things I watch. As for music, I tend to prefer more of the charts music, but I think that's mainly because I hear it a lot, my music selection on my phone is very varied!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This definitely has to be skydiving over Lake Taupō. One of the most incredible experiences of my life... especially as the guy let me pull my own parachute!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am really sociable, I'm on Couchsurfing to get to know the person I'm staying with as much as the area I'm in. Any suggestions of what to do either together or on my own, if you happen to be at work or something, are greatly appreciated and I'm always up for doing things I might not usually do! I'm keen for going out as well, but I'm on a pretty tight budget at the moment (sadly) so I'm just as keen to stay in and share stories, play board games or watch movies as well!
