About Me

Hi there, my name is Joanne and I'm 21 years old. I am quite easy-going and open-minded. As long as you are kind and don't take things too seriously I think we will get along well :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think one of the best ways to learn about the world is to meet and get to know people from all walks of life. I just want to explore the world and make interesting friends along the way!

Interests

  • travel
  • ultimate frisbee

Music, Movies, and Books

Things I'm Interested In:

- Sports: I play Ultimate Frisbee and Camogie (this is an Irish sport). I also love playing and watching all kinds of sports. Overall I like to exercise and keep fit. I like adventure activities such as hiking, kayaking, surfing etc.

- Food: I love delicious food. I like to think I'm a decent cook. Maybe my range of skills is a bit limited but what I can cook I cook well and I'm always ready to learn more! I may not like everything under the moon but I am always willing to try it at least once. I also really like kiwis.

- Music: I really like music, no matter what I'm doing I like to listen to music. I listen to all sorts but I particularly like soul, jazz, blues, folk and rap music. I also play the ukulele (only a little bit though). One of my favourite thinks to do with friends is go to concerts.

- Movies: I enjoy watching movies as much as the next person. I like movies that make me think or keep me in suspense. A good film I saw on Netflix recently was 'The Invisible Guest', I recommend you watch it!

- Books: I have always loved reading, I find it is a great way to relax. Sometimes when the sun comes out (a rare occurrence in Ireland) I just sit out and read my book all day. I find that sometimes these are the best days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some cool things I've seen include the biggest sand dune in Europe and the biggest cave in Europe.

There's some cool things in Ireland I've seen that I probably take for granted such as the Cliffs of Moher and the Giants Causeway.

Took a gap year and solo travelled to 21 different countries around Europe at 18

Continued travelling since I was 18, did some amazing workaways around Europe and most recently I spent 2 and a half months in South East Asia
