Hi
I am a retired woman who has loved to travel, but not as much as I would like. My interests have been in learning and experiencing different cultures. Over the years my time has been spent as a stay at home mother and then as a homestay mother hosting young students from Korea and Japan. I have worked in catering at both Canadian and East Indian events. Gardening and doing home maintenance has kept me busy along with volunteer work whether with Army Cadets or with the less advantaged at a "soup kitchen". As a retired person, having the time and the desire, I returned to university to catch up on some of the courses that I wasn’t able to access at the age when most people go to university. It was an eye-opener and a wonderful experience. This year I decided that it is the time to take off and explore the world.

I am couch surfing because in the past staying at hotels and bed and breakfast establishments the later proved to be more enjoyable. It was enjoyable because there was a better chance to get to know the local people and learn about the area better. Friends told me about couch surfing and it sounded intriguing, better to know the people of an area and learn the local colour. I like the personal touch of a home and have had people that I do not know stay in my home. This was a chance to learn about them and also to let them know about me. I have stayed in hostels and they were a blend of the B&B and the couch surfing.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

My tastes in music ranges from the 60's rock and roll, some country.
Movies are documentaries, Harry Potter, Biographies, some animated.
Books are biographies, Mauve Binchey, whatever the reading club is reading.
TV is documentaries, British productions ie Downton Abbey, Inspector Morse or Lewis, Coronation Street, The Big Bang Theory.

I do not know that anything that I have done is amazing except decide to return to university and be older than everyone including the professors.
