ABOUT ME

I live in Lower Normandy at Cherbourg. I taught in secondary school until a few years ago. Retired now. Member of Univesité Inter-Ages and Itinérance, an assocoiation which helps asylum seekers.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be positive,whatever happens, and avoid racists of all sorts. I think most clouds have a silver lining, even when stuff is stolen out of my car!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We can visit Cherbourg and the beautiful surrounding region. I can take visitors to Caen ( Memorial for Peace museum) and to the Normandy invasion beaches. . I also have a house in the Aveyron department where I go in July and August. Lots to visit in that region too: Albi, Conques, Rodez. Warm weather almost certain!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted 5 people, and also couchsurfed in Bodo, Norway.

Interests

I enjoy using my time as I wish, and travelling when possible.Theatre, cinema, reading, surfing the web, photo and art exhibitions,keeping up with current news,drawing and painting, defending the underdog and public services... Teaching French to refugees...I also discovered art last year and really enjoy our lessons

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed in gurs in Mongolia in 2009, amazing because the nomads will probably disappear pretty soon, unfortunately.. The Gobi desert and the camel races were quite something!

Teach, Learn, Share

Un peu de français ! and some French food. I also serve wine, though I don't drink or smoke.
Don't worry, one can have a good time in spite of that! ( you may smoke outside on the patio looking at the stars )
